Support Groups Facilitated support groups are an opportunity for women to share and to build skills and networks in a collaborative environment.
We regularly run support groups in the areas of: assertiveness, ageing well, parenting support for solo and teenage mothers, a women and anger stopping violence programme, recovering from the end of a relationship.
Our support groups are affordable and accessible and offer a supportive learning environment.
Community Learning Learning, skills development and self-care in a woman-only environment. Courses may include: · Self-care classes in Hatha yoga, yoga/pilates/stretch, Taiji quan, a book club, etc · Self defence for women, teens and girls · Creative classes in painting and crafting etc · Support groups and workshops around issues such as parenting, menopause, separation, etc
Fees
We try to keep our fees reasonable and affordable for those interested in attending our wonderful classes. Some of our course fees are on a sliding scale to take into account different levels of financial comfort so that women on a low income can still afford to attend. As a gauge of how the sliding scale works, it would be appropriate for students and beneficiaries to pay the lowest amount and women in part time or full time employment to pay somewhere in the middle of the scale heading up to the full price of the classes.
Cash or cheques are happily accepted however we do not have EFTPOS or credit card facilities, sorry. Please make cheques payable to Auckland Women’s Centre and address them to our POBOX.
We do accept payments via internet banking. Bank A/c no: 12-3012-0782605-00 A/c Name: The Auckland Women's Centre Incorporated Reference Code Particulars of course
