Annalise Myers - Team Parent Centre Development Manager

This year Annalise has taken up a new role that was  developed from her Vodafone World of Difference year. 
We are very grateful to the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation for the opportunities they have given to Annalise and the Centre. 
Her new role (kindly funded by the Tindall Foundation) will ensure the Teen Parent Project remains of a high quality, will develop and implement a funding plan for the new Centre, and will focus on addressing the key findings of our community research project as they emerge.

Elizabeth Morey - Administrator

Elizabeth began working at the AWC in 2002 as the Administrator.  Previously she worked for the Domestic Violence Centre, now known as Preventing Violence in the Home, after many years working in the private sector.

Ellie Lim - Women's Services and Community Education Coordinator

Ellie Lim joined our staff in July 2008 coming from a background in community youth work and retail management. Ellie is responsible for managing our Information, Referral and Advice Service and training and supporting our volunteers. She brings enthusiasm, a passion for working with women and strong customer service skills to this frontline position.

Gaby Ugalde - Skip Project Coordinator

Gaby hails from Mexico City where she worked as a volunteer with young mothers.  She has a BA in Spanish Language and Art from the University of Mexico (UNAM). 

Gaby has a long standing relationship with the Centre, first as a colleague, when she worked for Rape Prevention Education, then as a member of our Governance Collective.  In 2008 Gaby coordinated our pilot Teenagers Antenatal Programme.  We are enjoying having Gaby fulltime at the Centre, utilising her extraordinary people skills.

Heather Keats - Teen Parent Community Researcher

After graduating as a nurse with a 1st Honours degree from the university of Manchester in 2003, Heather worked as a Plunket Nurse in England for 2 years, supporting women and their families and acting as Nurse liaison with the local Women’s Refuge. Following a year spent travelling the world Heather took on the position of Specialist Nurse Adviser for Pregnant Teenagers in inner city, multicultural London in 2006 where she continued to develop her interest in the various issues affecting women in today’s society. She moved to Auckland in July 2008 and is enjoying working as part of the AWC Teen Parent Project.

Leonie Morris - Centre Manager

Leonie started work at the AWC in 2001 as the Projects Coordinator and shifted into the Centre Manager position at the end of 2005.  She has a Diploma in Social Work and an MA in Social Policy. Leonie has worked in community work for many years including the unemployment rights movement and many different campaigns for women's rights.  Her two main concerns are finding solutions to violence against women, and poverty amongst mothers and children in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Zee Pogai - Teen Parent Service Coordinator

Although born in New Zealand, Zee is of Samoan descent (from the villages of Apia and Vaitoloa).  She has worked with young people in her own community for a number of years both as a professional and as a volunteer Youth Worker and found it very rewarding. Zee has just recently come on board as our new Teen Parent Services Coordinator.
She has a B.A (Soc.Sci, Psychology Major from Massey Uni, 2000) Completing Masters of Social Work (Applied through Massey this year) Postgraduate Certificate Professional Mentoring and Supervision Skills (Unitec, 2006).
