WSAN Education Project - Creating Change in the Prevention of Sexual Violence
This is the Stage One Report (first six months) of the Wellingotn Sexual Abuse Network Education Project. The Education Project was commissioned to identify and assess sexual violence prevention intiatives taking place with young people in Aotearoa and internationally to establish best practice on these initaives and to make recommendations. The project focused on the prevention of sexual violence between peers; it did not include the prevention of sexual abuse of children.

Working with Young Mothers to Reduce Relationship Violence
The Auckland Women's Centre, in collaboration with a number of community and government agencies, provides a Young Mothers Support Programme which aims to support the young mothers taking into consideration their age, gender and parenting role. Our programme is designed to support/explore healthy family relationships and to prevent family violence from (re)occuring. We received funding from the Child, Youth and Family, Te Rito Community Collaborative Initative Fund to produce a literature review on the topic and an evaluation of the programme. The Literature Review is attached here and the Evaluation Report is attached to the item below.

In March 2009 the Government scrapped pay equity investigations for school support workers and CYFs social workers saying implementing the findings of these investigations would be too expensive because of the economic recession. Behind The Scenes Award Winners Congratulations to the winners of Behind the Scenes, the judges thought that the top five videos were all of a high standard. The Behind the Scenes competition encouraged young people aged 17 – 24 to create a YouTube clip based on violence between young people in partnerships.
